We all need a certain amount of fats in our diet to help us digest other foods. When you use fats make sure they are natural & the best quality you can get, not the processed substitutes as these can cause negative effects on your body such as inflammation.

When you do this you know exactly what is going into it. Fresher than processed, shop bought stuff,  cheaper and can be quick and easy.  Make double and freeze for another day.

We are often steered towards the ‘sugar free’ varieties BEWARE! The processed, chemical ingredients in ‘sugar free’ are not recognisable to our bodies and can cause problems in the gut. But! sugar is sugar whether natural fruit sugar, honey or the refined white stuff so we still need to be aware of how much we consume.

Wholegrains have more flavour and retain the vitamins, minerals & roughage stripped away in refined versions. If you are not used to them, include a bit at a time until you adjust. The refined version is not banned! just include whole grains as often you can
